I would suggest getting him a kids kart to start with. We just bought our grandson one and hope to let him start getting some seat time next year. This is a great way for them to learn how to get used to the track and flags and general racing. This class has been very successful for the young drivers at Beechnut. When they are ready to move up to purple plate Jr.1 class they are not intimidated with racing because they are used to the track.
We are having our Awards Banquet this Saturday at the VFW in Bristol Tn. on State Street at 3pm. The cost is $5 per person and bring a covered dish. You are more than welcome to come and bring your son and check it out if you would like to. We have three kids kart drivers coming so you could get any info from their parents and I'm sure they would love to meet you.
If you need anymore info you can call 276-646-8788 and talk to my husband ,he is the tech official at Beechnut . Hope this helps.
My 4 year old son is very much into racing, I would like to get him started in Kart racing, give it a chance, see what he can do..I have never dealt with any type of racing myself..any advice on how to get started would be appreciated..first thing first I assume...would need a kart for him to learn on, etc...
